There are a lot things that can go wrong when you're working in an active roadway. Damage to the seal is the biggest one. There are also many other things that might look like an issue but are not. There are many different ways to maintain roads depending on the construction of the road, its condition, the amount of traffic it receives, etc. Cape Seal's are generally used on roads that were initially constructed with a chip seal surface or on roads where the condition merits a less drastic (and less costly) method to maintain it. In many cases, the cape seal will outlast a "regular" plant mix overlay.
