FAQ
What if I see something wrong?
There are a lot things that can go wrong when you're working in an active roadway. Damage to the seal is the biggest one. There are also many other things that might look like an issue but are not. Please make sure to check out the "common concerns" and "common misconceptions" sections and see if your concern is there. If not, please let us know so we can address it by sending us an email through the form below.
Why did they do this instead of regular asphalt?
There are many different ways to maintain roads depending on the construction of the road, its condition, the amount of traffic it receives, etc. Cape Seal's are generally used on roads that were initially constructed with a chip seal surface or on roads where the condition merits a less drastic (and less costly) method to maintain it. In many cases, the cape seal will outlast a "regular" plant mix overlay.
